Miriam Robles Dances DWOS: Miriam Robles Dances To Place Third At SCV Dancing With Our Stars Fundraisier

Miriam Robles Dances DWOS
It was a family affair throughout. We could not be more proud of Miriam Robles and her family, Martin, Moises, Morelia, and Mariposa, who all worked hard to raise awareness of the work of Single Mothers Outreach by sending video, texts, and sending Facebook messages to their circles of influence. In the end over $29,000 was raised for SMO, taking third place in a very competitive field of 22 dancers and fundraisers. Only the SCV Sheriff’s Foundation  and Imago Dei School at Trinity Classical Academy beat out SMO’s amazing team of advocates!
We extend our most sincere appreciation to not only Miriam and her family (who also danced with her), but Todd Hanson, her dance partner, Margo Hudson and friends from Closet on Main, and our friends on the SMO Events Committee and TEAM Referral – Valencia Lunch Chapter, who all raised money for SMO through various summer events to break the record we set last year!

Parenting is too important a responsibility to bear alone, yet all too often single mothers and fathers are forced to do just that. Because we believe that effective parenting leads to successful, well-adjusted children, Single Mothers Outreach  (SMO) scaffolds families facing sudden housing instability, income loss, emotional trauma, and social deterioration as the result of divorce, abandonment, or widowhood.  With a mission to “empower single parents and their children by providing hope, support, and resources so that families can become self-sustaining and thrive,” SMO directly helps single parents find jobs, get educated, secure housing, stabilize their children’s emotional states, manage their finances, and help one another.
