Building Stronger Communities Through Connection and Support

The Connect program at SMO is dedicated to fostering a sense of community among single parents by creating opportunities for connection and support. Through classes and group therapy sessions, SMO brings parents together, helping them to overcome the isolation that many single parents experience.

By connecting with others who share similar challenges, parents gain access to valuable resources, encouragement, friendship, and networking opportunities. This peer-to-peer support empowers single parents to share knowledge, offer mutual support, and build lasting connections that enhance their ability to care for their families.

SMO connects parents to other parents through classes and group therapy sessions, providing a valuable resource for overcoming community isolation.

Through these connections, parents access resources, encouragement, and networking opportunities, empowering them to share knowledge, offer mutual support, and build lasting relationships that enhance their ability to care for their families.

Connecting Families to a Network for Comprehensive Care and Resources

In addition to facilitating connections between parents, the Connect program serves as a bridge to a broader network of services. SMO collaborates with various agencies to provide referrals for additional support that may not be available directly through SMO. These referrals include access to schools, shelters, other non-profits, government agencies, clinics, and more.

By linking parents to a wide range of external resources, SMO ensures that every family receives the comprehensive support they need to thrive, even beyond what SMO offers directly.

Every care plan is uniquely tailored to each family’s needs. SMO also connects parents to parents through SMO’s SCV Support Group, classes, and group therapy. Connecting single parents to each other is also a great resource. Single parents frequently experience community isolation. Parents are empowered when they connect with other parents for resource sharing, support, encouragement, friendship, and networking.
