Dave Ramsey takes our members through seven steps to Financial Peace in a fun, easy way to understand. This is a class that is designed for anyone, whether they make $250.00/month or $25,000.00/month! While our members are participating in this class, their kids are also learning the same concepts from "junior" in our SMO kids childcare. Each session is six weeks.
Same program as our FPU English, except it is for our Spanish- speaking members. Dave Ramsey takes our members through seven steps to Financial Peace. The Spanish sessions are 8-weeks long.
A FPU class for parents on how to teach their children about money.
MSW interns meet with SMO members one-on-one for 8 sessions in a therapy setting.
MSW interns meet with SMO members for 8 sessions in a group setting.
Workshops offered once a month through the Zonta Club of SCV, designed to help empower women. Some examples of workshops include: Job Search (resume skills) & Networking, nutrition classes, healthy lifestyles, legal advice, tax prep, etc. The member must pre-register for these workshops only if childcare is needed for that day.
This program is administered on an as-needed basis. Our members may go to Closet on Main, in downtown Newhall, to shop for clothing items for themselves and their children. Each member will receive free clothing and other necessities for themselves and for each of their children.
Through donations from the community, SMO receives fixings for our members for Thanksgiving.
A support network that helps connect, share resources, have access to community donations, and encourage friendships amongst our members.
Event that helps provide children with the necessary supplies for them to have a great school year.
Mother's Day Luncheon is an annual event. For members, SMO includes a free lunch, music, prizes, raffles and special awards and recognition to our moms. Free childcare is provided for this event, and members must register as space is limited.
Princess Cruises offers a holiday Adopt-a-Family event, in which they provide gifts for our members and their children.
