Financial Peace University (FPU)

Dave Ramsey takes our members through seven steps to Financial Peace in a fun, easy way to understand. This is a class that is designed for anyone, whether they make $250.00/month or $25,000.00/month! While our members are participating in this class, their kids are also learning the same concepts from "junior" in our SMO kids childcare. Each session is six weeks.

Some examples of workshops include: Job Search (resume skills) & Networking, nutrition classes, healthy lifestyles, legal advice, tax prep, etc. The member must pre-register for these workshops only if childcare is needed for that day.

Lynda.com

Lynda.com is a free online tutorial/educational program for SMO members only. It offers thousands of classes in computers, education, business, photography, etc. These classes are taken online, on the members own time. The classes can be accessed 24 hours/day, seven days/week, which allows for our members with busy schedules to have an opportunity to grow. A member can take the very most basic beginner classes and move on to more advanced levels. SMO requires a minimum of 5 hours per eight-week session to be completed in order for the program to count as a grow towards their membership status. Members must contact the office to be placed on a wait-list. New sessions start approximately every eight weeks.
